Mr Southall was the epitome of a true, southern gentleman. His daughter, Kathy, and I were roommates at LC 30 some-odd years ago, and Mr. and Mrs. Southall became my “adoptive parents” on the weekends. May the memories that all of you hold so dear sustain you in the difficult days to come. Glenda Whitley Topping, Courtland, Virginia.

Dear Sherry and Jennifer I cried and rejoiced when I read of your Dad's going home to be with your Mom. I loved your parents almost as much as I did mine. Growing up in Maple Springs with my grandparents Frank and Polly Fuller and in Justice with my parents George and Margie Goolsby. Later living next door when Polly was little created so many fond memories. I pray Father God sends the Comforter to fill you with peace knowing they will be spending eternity with Him. Jean Lord.

I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Wilbur, Miss Shirley and the Southall Family, through their daughter Kathy. I witnessed love, their devotion to our Lord, and family values by the times spent with them. Waking up in the mornings at their home and Mr. Wilbur cooking breakfast for us, how he would joke around and listening to his wisdom. I will miss him, yet knowing he is now with the love of his life in heaven ,along with his other loved ones that have passed,is the only serenity I have with his passing. Prayers to the rest of the Southall Family, may they have peace.
