Obituary for George Brantley Burnette

George Brantley Burnette, 91, of Louisburg transitioned peacefully into eternal rest on Wednesday, November 6, 2019. He was born on November 18, 1927 to the late Kenneth and Emma Gilliam Burnette. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Rachel Coggins Burnette; brother, Perry Burnette and his sister, Elsie Mae Jones. George loved his children and grandchildren; he loved to laugh and was very social. A faithful member of Sandy Creek Baptist Church for many years, he enjoyed fishing, traveling, collecting, tinkering and could fix most anything.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:45 – 2:45 pm at Sandy Creek Baptist Church where funeral services will follow at 3:00 pm with Reverend Kaden Williamson officiating. Burial will follow in Lancaster Memorial Park.

George is survived by his son, Larry Brantley Burnette (Billie); daughter, Margie Littlefield (H.C.); grandchildren, Chris Littlefield, Mike Littlefield, Stacy Thompson and Kelly Moorefield; great grandchildren, Peyton Littlefield, Hadley Littlefield and Nate Thompson.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Sandy Creek Baptist Church, P.O. Box 60, Louisburg, NC 27549.
