Obituary

Obituary for James Harold Harper

James Harold Harper, 95 of Louisburg transitioned peacefully into eternal rest on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at Franklin Oaks. He was born on January 23, 1925 to the late Forrest C. and Beatrice Aycock Harper. He was also preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife of 71 years, Mildred Fuller Harper; sisters, Cora Hayes, Wordna Collins, Elaine Knott and his brother, Forrest “Sonny” Harper. Harold loved life and enjoyed making people laugh. He enjoyed having breakfast at The Waffle House or Briggs and dinners at K & W. He loved his church families at Sandy Creek and Lighthouse Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends Saturday at 1:00 pm at Sandy Creek Baptist Church where funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm with Reverend Jon Dorsey officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Kay and John Sims and Judy and Gerald Cash; his son and daughter-in-law, Stan and Linda Harper; grandchildren, Lewis Crisp, Wes Harper (Marisela), Zack Harper and Carmen Hopper (Brian); four great grandchildren; sister, Marie Smith and his brother, Earl Harper.

Harold has always been a true blessing and a man of high honor and respect to my family and I, even if the was a Tarheel fan. My thoughts and prayers are with the family during this time of loss, but there is comfort in knowing he is in Heaven.
