Obituary for James Calvin "Jim" Ogburn Jr.

James “Jim” Calvin Ogburn, Jr., 86, of Wake Forest went home to be with the Lord after 15 years of declining health with his wife by his bedside caring for him through the journey on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at Transitions LifeCare. He was born on November 15, 1932 to the late James and Maggie McCroy Ogburn, Jr. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by sisters, Janie Northington and Joyce Suggs. He loved telling stories and his passion was his beautiful yard. He was a long standing member of Wake Forest Baptist Church.

A celebration of life service will be held at 3pm on Sunday November 24th 2019 at Wake Forest Baptist Church,107 South Ave, Wake Forest, NC 27587. The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 35 years Sandy Bradley Ogburn; sons Jim S. Ogburn and wife Katherine, Thomas C. Ogburn and wife Beth, Adam Ogburn and wife Ann; daughter Kathy O. Bass and husband John; step-daughter Dana Ray and husband Jay; step-son Mark Faison and wife Denise; grandchildren Jenna Ray (love of his life for 24 years) Anna Faison, Austin Faison, Heather Aubain, Christopher Ragland, Meredith Ogburn, Katharine Ogburn, Aaron Ogburn and Elizabeth Ogburn; Three Great Grandchildren; Special Nephew Larry Northington
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Transitions LifeCare, 250 Hospice Cir, Raleigh, NC 27607
