Obituary for Joyce Pearce (Laughter)

Joyce Laughter Pearce, 88, of Franklinton left us to be with her Lord on Monday, June 15, 2020. She was born on August 8, 1931 to the late George Spurgeon and Bertha Winbon Laughter. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by husbands, Joe W. Pearce and Dwight Strickland; brothers, Kenneth, Curtis and George C. Joyce was a constant caregiver by nature, she was a nurse at the Murdoch Center retiring after 30 years of service. She was a member of Union View Baptist Church. Joyce loved to read, she loved gardening, and nature. She was a very positive person, giving of her time volunteering at the senior center and also as a poll worker, but most of all she loved time with her grandchildren.

A private family memorial service will be officiated by the Reverend Jonathan Chandler at Fairview Cemetery.

Joyce is survived by her sons, David Strickland and Michael Strickland (Susan); daughters, Sandra Pisko (John), and Jayne Pearce Kearney (Frank); seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; her sister, Frances L. Peed (Wallace); a brother, John W. Laughter and many nieces and nephews.
