On November 8, 2020, the angels sang as they welcomed Patricia Ann Sauerman (Messink) into Heaven to meet her Lord and Heavenly Father face to face. Born January 24, 1945, she passed peacefully at home with her husband of53 years, Henry, by her side after a brave battle with breast cancer. Patty's great loves were God, her husband, being a mom and grandma, her family, friends, gardening, and puppy dog "Daisy Doodle". Patty will always be fondly remembered for her beautiful smile, generosity, and gift of encouragement that made each of us feel so special and important. God's gardens that she lovingly cultivated and tended on this earth were admired and enjoyed by many and will multiply, spread, and be enjoyed by all that she divided and shared them with for years to come. Her parents Daisy and William Messink precede Patricia in death. Her loving husband, Henry, survives her along with daughters Christine Washick (Andy) and Cathleen Sauerman, beloved grandchildren, Drew, Samuel, Danielle, Jennifer, and Jack, cherished siblings Bill Messink, Susan Miles, Cindy Gordon, Jim Messink, Kathy Stankowicz, Tim Messink, lifelong friend Donna Pryga, and many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. You were a rock for all to lean on and a comfort to all who needed it. You will be greatly missed and always remembered.

In light of these unprecedented times, a virtual memorial will be held until we can safely gather to celebrate her life.

I’ve known Patty and Hank since 1985. What started out as a business relationship (with Hank), grew over the years to a friendship that has lasted 35 years. They invited Susan and I into their home. Patty was a kind, nurturing lady and was always there to support Hank and the girls. I will truly miss Patty and her quick wit. God speed, Patty. (Steven)

I first met Patty at Lake Jordan one summer when we had been invited to stay at their resort. I remember Patty had such wonderful smile. She was so kind and welcoming. We had a great time, and when we left, it felt like we had been friends forever. Another memorable time with Patty was in Hawaii whale watching. Patty will truly be missed. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Hank and the girls. (Susan)

One of my most favorite memories of my big sister Patty was receiving a Christmas gift to spend the summer with her in Florida with the girls.I was so happy that my mom said I could go. We stayed at the Savetierri’s place and Patty did not hesitate to show me as many attraction she could in the four weeks that I was with her. We went to Disney World, Busch Gardens, Weeki Wachee, the zoo, Barnum and Bailey Circus world, and several beaches. That trip was the first time I ever saw and swam in an ocean!
