Obituary for Royster Harris, Jr.

Royster “Junior” Thorne Harris, Jr., 86, of Louisburg transitioned peacefully into eternal rest on Friday, April 17, 2020 at Brian Center in Durham. He was born on August 22, 1933 to the late Royster T. and Alice Hunt Harris. He was also preceded in death by his brother Jimmy Harris and his special pet his dog Boomer. Royster was employed with Westinghouse for over twenty years and drove a truck for Puryear Tank Lines. He enjoyed golf, sports and was a diehard Tarheel fan. He was a loyal Sergeant in the U.S. Army

He is survived by his wife, Rochelle Murray Harris; sons, Michael Anthony Harris, Timmy Dale Harris, Chad Everrette Harris (Ashley); grandson, Cameron Harris; granddaughter, Kameron Harris; brothers, Donald Harris (Glenda), Richard Harris (Swannie); sisters, Patsy Ayscue (W.G.), Betty Sue Rice (John) and many special nieces nephews and cousins.

Due to the pandemic and social distancing, the family plans to have a Celebration of life service to remember Royster at a later date.

Arrangements are being handled by Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services, 804 N. Bickett Blvd., Louisburg, NC 27549. Online condolences may be made to www.lancasterfcs.com.
