Wendy enjoyed listening to music and loved to sing and dance. She loved jewelry, pocketbooks, and her family photos. She would get excited with her upcoming birthdays and Christmas holidays. (She “expected” a card for every holiday!) She loved her family and their visits to see her. Her sister, Kimberly, would always bring her favorite meal, “Chicken Fettuccine” from Olive Garden when visiting. Wendy’s stepmom would bring a baked treat to share with residents. Sadly, her birthday celebration was put on hold this year due to covid-19 restrictions.
Wendy is survived by her sister Kimberly Harris Denius (William), Shawn Harris Shuck (Johnny), stepmother Minda Harris, niece Danna Talbert, nephew Trey Shuck (Charity), great nieces Halle Talbert and Ariel Shuck, great nephew Samuel Shuck, aunts Barbara Harris and Shirley Morton, as well as many loved cousins!
Wendy was born in South Boston, Va.. Through her life she resided in Clarksville, Va., Franklinton, NC, Raleigh, NC, and Durham, NC. She resided in group homes during her adult life “due to her special needs and mental illness”. Wendy was very sweet and loving... childlike in nature. She had many “facial expressions” and was really good at remembering birthday dates! She always asked about family members and our fur babies during phone conversations!
Wendy was the granddaughter of the late Grover B. Harris, Sr. and Harriet Mohorn Harris who once resided in the Franklinton Lancaster Funeral home as the Harris’ homeplace. She is also the granddaughter of the late King Duncan Morton and Susie P. Morton of Franklinton.
Memorial services to be held at a later date.
